What's the best way to lose weight in about 2 months?

I weigh 195 now and I'd really like to lose about 15 to 20 pounds in about 2 or 3 months! What are some good diet's or tricks to use to do so? *Recently I used hydroxycut as a cheater to help me lose about 20 lbs becuz I was overweight and wasn't working out and that helped me lose that weight, but now I am at a standstill with those pills and can't seem to lose any more weight reguardless.. Is there another type of pill to help me lose more weight/increase metabolism but not as dramaticly as hydroxycut?* Any and all help is greatly appreciated! thanks!

I was going to say "pinch a loaf," but then I realized you said 2 months, and not 2 minutes. Anyway, DO NOT use Hydroxycut. It's totally ineffective, and it's not worth the money. For that matter, don't rely on pills. I'd suggest eating several small meals throughout the day rather than three or four larger meals. It sucks at first because you're never really satisfied, but you get used to it. This has been known to increase your metabolism. It might not be much, but I believe it helps. I hit a plateau at 205, and my goal is 185. Two weeks ago I started this several-small-meals diet, and I am now 195 and continuing to drop. It's easier to keep track of your calories with smaller meals, which will likely leave you with a lower caloric intake each day. At least, that's how it worked with me. I eat 8-10 meals per day, each meal is between 200 and 300 calories. Take a good multivitamin that is USP approved (to make sure the vitamin is regulated and accurate according to the nutrition facts). If you take Hydroxycut or any other weight loss pill, you will gain back whatever you lose. It's all about lifestyle.

well sense I'd gain back the weight.. whats a good way to keep it off and continue to lose the weight to when I'm comfortable with what I weigh and how i look? any advice on that?

Best way to lose weight and keep it off? Lifestyle. Watch what you eat, and how you eat. Stay active, keep finding new ways to challenge your body. Of course, that's all in the long run, hence the term "lifestyle" as opposed to the term "diet". If you're talking about a loss of 15-20 lbs in 2-3 months, I would say you've got a very realistic, attainable goal that can be achieved through consistent exercise and a solid diet. But to keep it off, you really have to make a commitment to a healthy lifestyle.

So, to help you a little more, I have a few questions.
How tall are you?
What sort of fitness level are you at currently?
What activities/sports do you participate in?
Do you have a particular event in which you plan to compete?

A key to maintaining a healthy lifestyle in the long term is to find an array of activities and/or sports that you enjoy. If you plan on running on a treadmill and lifting weights to keep in shape, you will get sick of it eventually. My opinion is that you need to get out of the gym if you want your healthy lifestyle to last.

...edit
Whatever you do, don't fall for the infomercials and ads you see on tv. There is absolutely nothing that's being sold on tv that's better than what you can find in natural food. The only pill I'd suggest for a healthy lifestyle is a good multivitamin. (good = US Pharmacopeia approved)

Fish oil couldn't hurt. limiting or eliminating alcohol is a good idea b/c a) the calories in alcohol, and b) the tendency to overeat when you've had a few.

limit fats, salts, sugars, alcohol. Eat a lot of fruit, veggies and lean foods like Beef and Chicken Breasts.

And Plyotmetrics

I have to disagree with you on the hydroxycut. I took it for 12 weeks lost 40 pounds and have kept it off for over a 6 months now.

Now i eat 3 sensible meals a day and drink plenty of water with exercise.

are you f*cking kidding?? I am leery of supplements like that but I must know more. did u have to change your diet radically to keep the weight off, also did the hydroxycut make you hyper or yr. heart race or anything?

Kenny Konverse 04-06-2008 11:01 PM

hydroxycut never made me jittery, speed up my heart rate or nothing it just helped me lose 20lbs fast.. but after a while it doesnt work anymore and its just at a standstill like i am now thats why im tryin to find a better exercise program or somethin so i can get off the stuff!
