I would avoid creatine. As soon as you stop using it your gains will diminish because it's all water. But if you really want to give creatine a try, Creatine Mono is the only way to go.
If you're looking for something for pre workout try a Nitric Oxide like White Flood or NO Xplode.
A product I am using right now for pre workout is called RPM by Applied Neutraceuticals. Holy Shit dude. It's something else.
But really though if you've only been lifting for a short amount of time, I'd stick with a Whey Protein, Fish Oil and a Multivitamin for now.
If after a month or so your not satisfied with your gains or your energy levels in the gym, I'd get something like White Flood or N.O. Xplode.
But if I were you I'd stay away from anything that you'd need PCT for.
Like Methyl 1-D.
Actually Methyl 1-D is acutally being discontinued because the DEA raided LG Sciences Labs and confiscated Methyl 1-D and Methyl Masterdrol because it contained traces of steroids but you can still get them at GNC or Vitamin Shoppe until they run out. But like I said anything like H-Drol, Halotest, Halodrol Liquigels, Methyl Masterdrol, Jungle Warfare, 1-AD Bold, Methyl 1-D, i'd steer clear from. It's all good when your on it but coming off is a bitch and usually the products are rip-off and are basically imitation "gear"
But if your over 21 a testosterone booster maybe a good thing to look into considering at that age your hormone levels are decreasing.
Something like 6-0X0 or Novadex XT as a stand alone for 4-6 weeks would be good.
I hope this helps.

I dont understand why these dudes are talking about not taking creatine. My college sports nutrition classes make creatine and protein out to be the only supplements worth taking if you cant adjust your diet to fit the needs you have.
at 16 though you should just be eating alot really. you dont need to take anything, you really dont need to lift either, because its not going to do much, and it hurts your bodys growth if you lift real hard and often.

If you're looking to loose wieght then diet, and go to the MMA gym. Worry about lifting when you get older. Right now muscle won't do you much good at 16.

That's the dumbest thing I've heard in a while.
Lifting is fine for someone 16.

Yea I'm 17 and have been lifting on and off since my freshmen year and its payed off and as long as I don't do it incorrectly it will continue to pay off. About creatine- what southpaw said was right and wrong (I believe) its puts water into your muscles, so the weight gain you've experienced is normal (water weight man) so that you're able to lift longer and higher weights (you feel the burn later than you normally would). Someone please correct me if I'm wrong! I would recommend NO Explode as a preworkout supplement, its worked really well for me, I started taking it around august, and switched to naNovapor for a while, and it just didnt do it for me. You get a great pump from it, I highly recommend it, if you can order stuff online its cheaper at bodybuilding.com then at GNC.

while thats not exactly the smartest way to put it he kind of has a point.
because your not done growing physpically until your like 26 for men, there really is reason to think its better to wait until your atleast 18 to start lifting.
i started when i was 12, same time i stopped growing, i was supposed to be 6'6'', im 6'2'' i really honestly believe it had to do with lifting.
now again, this isnt for lighter less intense lifting but until your in your 20s honestly the results you get from heavy lifting, and intense lifting will be less significant and may not really be worth it.
Exercise science major at Missouri state university btw.
also your body naturally has creatine in it, so its kind of dumb to say it just gives you silly effects that you dont normally get. creatine will help you gain weight, some will be water weight some wont. youll see some strength gains but youll also see that just from working out.

What's wrong with creatine? You don't lose anything cept water when you're done, you make really solid gains and it helps you get your lifts up.
