Rate my circuit training!

Sup everyone. I just started doing this circuit training today, 5:00 long (to represent a round in fight). did it 5 times before puking. Let me know what you think...

1 minute jump rope
30 second pushups
30 second hindu squats
2 minutes hard shadow striking with 3 lb dumbells
30 second burpees
30 second dumbell curls

1 minute break, and repeat.

Any comments would be most appreciated

I would drop the push ups as well as the curls. Do something like this:

2 minute jump rope
1 minute burpees
2 minute shadowboxing
1 minute hindu squats

What a stud

eh, not really that hard.

When I train we:

jump rope for 5 minutes
shadow box 5minutes
jump rop 5minutes
shadow box 5minutes

then do like 500s or 1000s (10 things, 100 times each.)
Like pushups, sprawls, squats, situps etc 10 things

Then stretch it out, no breaks

Believe.

Is this just a full day of conditioning, or do you go into striking/jitz after?

thats an example of ONE day, we train 4-5 days a week and do something different every day. Thats about 45minutes worth of cardio training, after that we will do standing technique, BJJ technique, rolling and then 2-3 days a week we will do live sparring, live rounds, mma technique, cage technique etc

Believe.

I like it. Id replace the 30 sec dumbell curls with sandbag shouldering, that should help you puke more. I think your routine is good and would condition you well for a fight as long as you keep the pace up.

You are tarining more muscule endurance in this workout whereas the other workout trains more of the anerobic pathways and lactate thereshold. So I wouldn't say that you can compare the 2 workouts.

I think the key to all circut work is intensity and variety. If it doesn't hurt it ain't workin and if it bores you it's probab;y boring your body too. That's jus me anyway. Cheers - Dan
