yah, you should mix it up, but this is a good test to perform as you can measure how your cardio is doing in relation to a fight sim.

I do 2 hours on the eliptical lots too.

I stay away from impact excersizes. Running for 2 hours is not good for your joints.

Sadly I'm in Australia and there is no wrestling team, we have shit all when it comes to contact sport. SUCKS!

So true, I never exceed 1 hour, wich is allready too much, but now I try to do more SPINNING and mix up my zones or simply do intervals on the bike, ridding in between cardio zones helps me burn shit and upgrade my cardio performance!

1 Hour is kind of pointless, in the army i was running every other day, with an 8-10 miler every one to two weeks, sadly anaerobic fitness is a whole different animal. Fight's don't last 1-2 hours. So all that running didn't do me much good.
Sprinters don't run marathons to train because running 26 miles doesn't make them any faster at the 400m.

4 sure not faster but a hell of alot more endurent, even I agree 1 hour's too much, that's why I vary my intensity from ass kicking to moderate self ass kicking...lol! Anyways mix it up and I'm not a trainner! Just givin pointers that help me with my cardio... as the thread implied "help my cardio sucks" No disrespect intended!

It's a different kind of endurance to struggle on the ground and gain contol of somebody when they're gassing vs. running with steady breathing, and a good pace.
I wasn't trying to say you shouldn't train hard, i'm just saying to change the type of training, you can get a full on "ass kicking" from sprints, and it'll apply better to what you're training for.
