Supplements pre/post training

I'm totally new to supplements, but I keep a healthy filled diet (due to my parents exellent cooking ). But I want to see if I can gain muscle mass and recover better from training (and gain more energy before trainign). I train MMA and grappling and some strength.

So what's the "rules" with supplements? What do I take before trining (and how long before training) and what do I take after training (and again, when)? Do I take supplements when I'm not training? (If it's to any help I'm 183 cm tall and weigh 74 kg = about 6 feet and about 160 pounds)

I would love (and rep) to have someone explain the supplement basics.

Pre-Training: Nitric Oxide (ex. NO - Xplode, NO Shotgun) or you can go with a simple whey protein shake or creating substance.

Post Training: Whey protein shake should be consumed within an hour after your workout.

Pre you can do Creatine or nitric oxide or a combination of both.

post whey.

before bed L-glutamine.

you'll work out harder and recover faster.

If I was only going to take Creatine or Nitric oxide I'd go with the Nitric Oxide.

Stay away from NO Xplode. it's expensive and too low of a dose for most. You end up having to take 3 scoops to get full effect and that can cost a whole lot of money.

defenitly NO before training i strongly recommend black powder and take some casein(slow digesting) protein to keep your body from going into a catabolic state and mabye extra amino acids. Post workout i would go with creatine and whey.

Just a quick question, why would you go with creatine post workout? My understanding is that it allows you to continue to work harder and should generally be taken pre- workout. I'm interested to know the benefits of a post workout creatine.

Some people do a split half before half after.

in all honesty it doesn't matter when you take your creatine. It will be most effective 40 min before your workout but you load your system with it. It's having an effect on you 24 hours a day after you load for about a week.

Pre Workout (BCAA's and an NO Supplement) White Flood, No Shogtun, Ragnarok


Intra Workout (during training) (optional, but highly recommended) Purple Wraath, Intrabolic, Xtend (sip during workout)


Post Workout

40-80g of Carbs (Waxi Maize) Slam it immediately after you finish working out

40g of Whey Protein (30 minutes after)

Creatine (optional) Green Magnitude, SizeOn (consumed after Carbs and before protein)

I dont like creatine preworkout too much cause it dehydrates you. It will help you no matter when you take it.
