If you want more protein eat more. If you're competing in the 169lb class you shouldn't ever be hungry. I don't mean to eat unhealthy, but have 5-6 meals a day and if you still aren't getting enough protein get a protein shake. Also like everyone has said you can't spot reduce fat, so doing harder core workouts will only make those muscles stronger not reduce the fat in THOSE areas. But like wukka and someone else said, the thing to do is bulk then cut.

I heartily accept the motto, "That government is best which governs least"; and I should like to see it acted up to more rapidly and systematically.

#1 Don't do a bodybuilding type workout.
#2 Look at general fitness first, your are going to have your body for a long time, don't F**k it up.
#3 Eat healthy. Don't try to "get Big" at the cost of gaining fat.
#4 find a GOOD fighter/athlete that maybe able to answer some questions for you.
#5 Log everything! And over a coulpe of months find out what works for you because everything is different for different people.

Actually, you can't really make significant gains in strength or mass with lifting unless you eat a lot. Or at least not nearly as quickly.

As the saying goes, 'If you want to get big you have to eat big.' Cutting comes later.

I thought this was about giving advice. That is MY ADVICE!
Keep your thoughts to your self.

Because I didn't say eat anything you want...I said eat healthy.

I don't disagree with the rest of your advice; just number 3. That's because number 3 is bad advice.

The OP is looking for results. AKA strength/mass gains. He wants to 'get big'. And as I said before, you have to eat big to get big. If he wants to make strength gains then he's also going to put on some fat - that's how it works. You can't bulk and not gain any weight.

Your advice was retarded and Dempsey roll was right to point that out. Don't get sore after you've given someone stupid advice and gotten called on it.
