How many days a week?

Should you work your abs/core?

2 at the most.

1 day of straight core (captains chair, medicine ball sit ups)

1 day of compound exercises that work muscles in addition to your core (clean and jerk, basketball, yoga)

2 at most? You're joking, right?

Your abdominal muscles are more resilient and recover more quickly than most other muscles. That's not to say that it's a good idea to work them every day - you should listen to your body. If the muscles are sore, don't work them. If they're not sore or the soreness is minimal, go ahead.

"I don't want them to like me, because when I'm in the ring, punches fly to the face. It is not a tenderness time. I am not falling in love. And he knows that when the fight starts I am kicking faces."

it's impossible to not work your abs every day. Hell, running works your abs.

I do a med ball routine every other day that hits the abs really good but I don't do a conventional ab thing. I just don't see the point.

yeah, I usually will do an ab workout in between an upper body or arm workout just to space things out. Some are crazier than others, but most are just 40 or so crunches to give my arms and chest a break.

Then I run on the off days which gets all the tightness worked out.

2 is good for me, unless I load up on carbs/beer that week.

My abs have slight definition thats is nice for me, but other may want the "washboard" look, so obviously they should work them 3-5 days a week
