icebaths?

i was working out friday to remember i was going tothis skatejam in an indoor place.
iwoke up extremely sore and skated for 6 hours. got home legs sore as ****.

so i looked up icebaths and decided that'd help

my question is, is it ok to do it after every workout? and how long should i stay in the tub?

From what I've heard icebaths can be more detrimental than anything. The best thing to do post workout is a contrast shower.

Are you getting enough carbs and protein after your training sessions?

Consuming 80g of Complex Carbs (Vitargo, Oatmeal, Banana) post workout will make a significant difference in recovery.

Or take a power nap. Even if it's 30 minutes. A quick nap sometime after your workout can make a difference too.


Or next time make sure you have your schedule worked out so this doesn't happen again.

oh i get you, yeah **** ice baths, i tried it and i was in for just 30 seconds

**** icebaths, i'm going to the powernap thing though, i was lookin up how your hormones are released during sleep and that'd really help

I've had a bit of experience with ice baths and they worked for me. At the military academy I went to my freshmen year they had 3 or 4 in the training room and soaking in that for 15 minutes after football or wrestling really helped. It is like icing something sore, just your whole body, it is miserable don't get me wrong, but it sure helped me.
