I am training in BJJ and am Hoping to get started in some Muay Thai sometime soon. My problem is that I am 6'2" and weigh 137lbs. I am trying to gain some muscle mass because its hard to train with guys my same weight cuz their shorter with more muscle. Being tall and skinny has its benefits but I wanna gain some muscle regardless. I already have training and workout plans (though any additional help is useful) but If anybody has any diet/nutrition tips that would be much appreciated. Thanks.
eat lots of carbohydrates and lets yourself get a bit chubby then start working out and turn it into hard muscle also get a real good whey protein or even some muscle gainer
Start eating more protein. Eat five or six times a day and be sure you got lots of protein in each meal. Eat stuff like tuna, chicken, turkey, some red meats like steak, eggs.
I think you would see your best results with about 200 grams of protein a day.
are you joking? 200 grams of protein a day?!? The max he should be taking is 137 grams up to 150 grams.
Also, basically just eat whatever you can. You calorie intake must be greater than the calories you burn during the day, so keep in mind how much cardio you do while training in BJJ and Muay Thai and adjust your diet to that.
He is trying to gain muscle mass, not maintain it. So 200 grams is a pretty obtainable amount plus its only like 34 grams per meal if he eats six times a day.
Thanks for all of your input, Ive been getting a lot more protein in my diet and im starting to step up my lifting routine. In order to supplement my portein intake an dmy lifting ability a friend recommended that i use MUscle Milk, would you guys have any thoughts on this?
Don't burn more than your calorie intake while completing a substantial workout each and everyday (with some breaks of course)
Mass = Heavy Weights small reps.
Remember five pounds of fat and five pounds are muscle are the same weight, but the fat takes up more room.
