Muscle and Weight Gainer?

So i've won 2 681g tubs of BODY FORTRESS Muscle and Weight gainer, which is essentially a protein shake. The thing is though I know so very little about supplements of all kinds so I need some advise on what's what, from a fighters point of view. I know body builders and gym monkeys will take a lot of this stuff, it tells me on the back of the tin that I should take 5 table spoonfuls with 1L of milk. Now to me that sounds like a lot to me. It also tells me to take 1 a few hours before my session and 1 an hour after, so I can see how that works.

So i'm really just wondering if this stuff is worth it, will it make a big difference, what you guys think of this stuff and should I just follow the guide lines?

It depends on what your goals are.. are you trying to put on muscle mass or just bulk up what you have already?
I take a few supplements- Max's WPI, Universals animal pump, Wild bull micronised creatine and sometimes hydroxycut hardcore. I think its important to take them as directed. With protein its not going to do you harm to take less of or less frequently, it will just take longer to put on the mass. If your struggling then take your time with the amount of times you take it. 1L of milk does seem like a lot!
If you find that its not working or you cant keep up then try packing your daily meals (6-8) with lots of carbs, and good fats. Hope this helps and if u need any help with other supplements throw me a Pm and ill do my best to help.
