Protein Bars -- Recommendations Here, Please

Ermm... I know, a supplement I actually haven't experienced with. Good news is that I'm adding protein bars to my regular diet just for more caloric intake to my diet.

Problem is I don't want just any type of protein bars. I want a high protein, moderate or low carb, and low fat protein. Preferably low carbed as well but I could make way for the moderate carbage, I suppose.

Any advice on what to get? I'm looking for something top of the line taste wise with great quality when it comes to nutrition.

From what I heard, Genisoy would be a good addition to my diet. Looks kind of nasty and I've never digested soy protein well.

Thanks

Protein bars are so ridiculously overpriced(at least where I'm from)......you'd be better off spending that money on actual food IMO.

Well if you eat them when you don't have food around they should last you a while. Replacing them with a meal everyday, then they are going to be overpriced. But a just for a snack maybe once everyday or two, it's not that bad.

When I made this thread, I was hoping I'd get a response from you. Your recommendations usually always suit me well. Thanks, I'll check them out.

Yeah, they are a bit expensive but it'd be worth it if it leans me out a little bit more. My metabolism is horrible, even with the healthy carbs/fat I eat on a regular basis. Protein bars would be well worth the addition if I could get back down to 175 or so.

EDIT: By the way, Southpaw, what's the best tasting flavor in that selection?

I prefer the Chocaolate PB but believe it or not more people like the Pumpkin.

The bars are also Very Heavy and they do fill you up

Sounds good. Just got my W2 form back from work so I got some extra money to feed back to the economy. Will be purchasing this soon.

I know this is completely unrelated but have you ever heard of anything about NLN Lean Pro Matrix Whey Protein?

http://www.nlnutrition.net/lean-pro-matrix.html

Looks promising.. Currently on the 10lb Scivation Chocolate Whey but I'm thinking about switching over to this. What would you suggest since you are the residential supplement genius?

Thanks man.

Met RX bars are pretty good, with around 500 calories and 32 grams of protein. Plus they taste FANTASTIC. I usually eat a couple before swim meets or after lifting

Right, I'll go back to my eating Corned beef sandwiches, apple tart and drinking pints of milk while not gaining any weight
