How much whey protein?
I was wondering how much whey protein to take in a day. I heard 1 gram per pound you weight. Thats like a 2lb jug every week. Is this right. Im taking about 4 scoops a day now, should a bump it ? I weight 185ish. My 4 scoops equal 120grams.

You should be eating 1 gram of protein per pound of BW, not just whey protein. I would suggest a whey protein shake directly after working out, then maybe 1-2 additional ones sometime throughout the day. Don't overdo the whey protein, it's better to get healthy protein sources through actual food.

the only time i drink a shake is before and after my workout and some times when i dont have time to eat but i usually take the time to eat, eat some chicken, tuna, that helps with the protein intake.

I take in double my weight in protein so around 350g per day.
Depending on when I take whey or protein blends, I'll have 1 or 2 scoops.
When I wake up I have 1
Before my workout I have 1
After my workout I have 2
I take 2 scoops of blended protein before bed.
It is better to get Protein from food sources but my parents rarely ever buy anything thats high in protein on a regular basis. Everyone but me in the fam in on the low carb, low fat bullshit.
So I have to resort to Tuna, which I'm really getting sick of, I don't even chew it any more I just swallow it and wash it down with water.

just take a scoop or 2 45 minutes before you lift and 2 scoops after. eat meals and when you hit the grocery pick up some tuna/turkey which are excellent sources of protein. i recently saw these like special k things that are protein water, and it's a lemony taste, idk how many grams of protein but i would rather drink something like that.

It actually depends on a multitude of factors: goal(weight gain, FFM mass gain, losing weight), macronutrient ratios, type and timing of protein, etc.
If you have an average BF%, then 1-1.5g/lb is ideal. Make sure you're not just using whey protein. Use a quick acting protein post-workout, and then a product that contains different types of protein throughout the day. That way, you'll get a "constant" supply of protein throughout the day.

This. I don't even take the stuff anymore and if anything I've lowered my body fat and still maintained muscle. I figured if I'm eating eggs, peanut butter throughout the day, milk, nuts, chicken breast, beans, whole grains, fish, moose, beef, there's no need to throw anymore on top of that. Extra calories you don't need and there are cons to overdoing it with protein.

Assuming you're eating other food, you're also getting protein from other sources, so 1 ounce/pound from your whey is actually quite a bit - you'd have to be hitting the weights REALLY hard to need that much.
If I recall, the hardcore, roided-out bodybuilders are only doing about 2 ounces/pound.
