Best ways to get more flexable?

I am doing kickboxing but I can't kick my legs high enough or keep them straight when I am doing it. Anyone know any good ways to make my legs more flexable?

I hear ya bro!!
I had that same problem when I first started, I'm not saying its been completely corrected but I have improved.
What has been working for me is simple stretches, sitting with my legs straight out and reaching past my toes until its uncomfortable. Splits help out some too. And with those stretches I practice practice practice. Keep kicking the bag, and be sure to focus on technique and not speed or power. Plus a little hint, the higher you kick the more important that your foot planted on the floor has the heel pointed @ your intended target.

You keep them pointed for roundhouses...if you're doing a front kick, don't do that, lol. You'll end up hurting your toe badly - I know, my toe was jammed because I front kicked a guy three times my size and I forgot to tighten and pull back my toes.

Anyway, just stretch and stuff, the way linkster01 advised. Those help a lot, trust me. I could stretch so much more compared to when a couple months ago.

Lol, good luck.

It's easy to get more flexable, just basically stretch and stretch and stretch. Eventually your muscles will loosen up and become more.. Flexable

i suggest partner stretching and push yourself as far as you can go for exmaple go into the splits as far as you can and usually youll have your hands on the ground for surpport now get your partner to lift and hold onto your hands causing you to slowly slip down trust it works
