Kinda off-topic here but Doesn't Joe Riggs put like 30sum pounds on in one day after the weigh-ins? I think I heard he will come in as WW and weight like LHW or sumthin the next day

Judging from the way he looks that sounds reasonable. I actually think I heard that somewhere too. I think it kinda ruins an element of sportsmanship, I mean they're all going to add on a few pouns after weigh ins but if you are fighting at an entirely different class (i.e. WW to LHW ^) thats just being evil.

Yeah it sure is evil. But if he isn't breaking rules then he might as well use it to his advantage. I like Riggs's boxing skills, they are pretty good compared to most

It's not uncommon for a lot of fighters to "dry up" going into the weigh-in, and then come in for the actualy fight 10 to 15lbs heavier than the day before. Anyone cutting 15lbs in one day isn't going to have much energy or strength to walk around much less fight in a championship bought (unless you are grossly overweight).
Ahh ok...that makes more sense. Even though putting 15 pounds in one day sounds pretty crazy too.

And Riggs putting on 30?? Wow.

the 30 lbs thing is kind of crazy...but 15 pounds is rather common these days....Manny Pac put 14 1/2 lbs in one day for his last fight vs Morales...
Franklin normally goes to the ring about 200 lbs...
so 15 lbs is more or less normal...now 30 lbs is just crazy...and even with the weight advantage he gets beat...

Yeah he still manages to lose with that much extra weight on him. I'm thinking its the wrong weight class for him because he's working out and used to fighting at 170 in training.....all of a sudden he's 30 pounds heavier Probably very awkward for him and I bet it causes him to gas out way easier.

Sean's not too big in height is he? For 155 class, I'm guessing he probably walks around 170. I don't think he had a hard time making weight in the welterweight division because I don't think he'd ever be that much over 170 lbs.

i remmber it was said that he had to lose a HUGE amount of weight to make it to light weight i think he weighs a significant amount over 170

That's pretty much it cabbs.

I was recently watching Riggs vs. Diaz from UFC 57, and Rogan claimed how Billy Rush told him that after Riggs weighed in at 169 on Friday, he was coming into that fight the next day fighting at 202 lbs.

DAMN.

Oh and I also agree on his boxing skills. They're damn good. I don't think anyone in the Welterweight Division can throw hands with The Diesel. He has blazing combinations...sets them up with those stiff jabs.

Did you happen to catch the 1st time he hit Hughes when they fought at UFC 56, he rocked him hard - mind you, with one punch. Matt instantly looked for that shot after stumbling. He didn't want anymore of that.
