GSP Cut 15 lbs?!

If you watch the Matt & Georges II fight, when GSP enters the octagon, Randy mentions that GSP cut 15 pounds the day of weigh-in.

The guy lost 15 pounds in one day?? Does anyone else cut that much weight in one day?? What are some of your guys' last-minute weight cut methods??

Damn 15 lbs. The only thing I can think of is laxatives. A sauna will only do so much. But like it was already stated, "Do what you gotta do."

The above are probably the best methods. I can't even imagine cutting that much weight in one sitting. That is incredible.

Yea...putting that weight back on for the fight was definitely beneficial for him, especially against a guy that loves take downs like Matt Hughes, but damn...losing 15 pounds in one day is the most I've ever heard.

I don't think he meant that GSP cut 15lbs the day of the weigh-ins. I believe he meant that he was fighting 15lbs heavier than what he weighed in at. It's not uncommon for a lot of fighters to "dry up" going into the weigh-in, and then come in for the actualy fight 10 to 15lbs heavier than the day before. Anyone cutting 15lbs in one day isn't going to have much energy or strength to walk around much less fight in a championship bought (unless you are grossly overweight).

It doesn't matter if you agree or disagree... As long as I don't bore you and I spark a moment of thought, my goal is achieved.

Yeah I don't think he could have lost 15lbs in one single day since he wouldn't have much energy or strength for a fight.
