Ive recently started training again, I was wondering what others here usually eat/drink before and after training?

water is the best drink before during and after.

i eat a bannana 2hrs before training. if i eat within 2hrs i will throw up.

"every second your not training, he is..... and he is doing it, just to kick your ass"

No it isn't.

And someone with a more settled stomach might want to eat something a bit more substantial before exercising.

care to elaborate on what IS the better alternative or WHAT is more substantial? that was a fairly uninformative post.

Yeah it was, but come on. Water post workout? Protein shakes, gatorade, choclate milk......it also has a lot to do with what you are doing in this "workout" but water isn't going to help you recover.

As for a bannana two hours before working out, if thats all you can handle thats fine, but more substantial than a bannana is pretty much self explanatory.

Alright. I mean, I agree with you entirely. I try and nab a power bar an hour or so before training if I haven't had much to eat that day. It may not be the best, but it does the job.

And you're right. it does depend on your goal after training. Bulking up would require protein, obviously. rehydrating would be gatorade like you said.

I'd like to know what the best thing is to eat after training in order to help your muscles recover.
