Amino acids vs Protein powder

Hey everyone,

Here is something that never crossed my mind before... Recently saw a post on a Russian forum - someone calling AminoAcids a compressed protein

Looks like protein is pretty much just a source of amino acids.
Anyone know the difference between those two? why the hell would any one want to drink shakes (beside getting full) if you can simply gulp down couple of tabs? Amino acid tabs look like a much more efficient way to get needed building supplies.

Am i missing something here? What do you guys think?

I could be way wrong, but I think most protein powders have amino acids in them. The thing about protein shakes is that they provide calories, carbs, proteins, and fat whereas with an amino acid pill you only get the amino acids. Generally the pills are about the same price as a tub of protein as well.

im not 100% sure but looks like protein breaks down to amino acids, in other words amino acids are last stage of protein breakdown and amino acids are the muscle building elements that we want to get in the end...

In other words powder is same as pills, only + fats, carbs and calories ?
