Please for the love of god go pickup any basic nutrition book(body for life is GREAT to start with) because you obviously dont know ANYTHINGGGGG about nutrition or training. PLEASE GET EDUCATED.
Whoa, relax, bro. I'm not acting like I know anything - that's why I ask people and basically believe everything I hear.
No one's saying don't work out everyday. They're saying (accurately) to not work out the same muscle two days in a row. I'd say work out 5-6 days a week, and do one day of pure cardio. Especially if you're training to fight. I just go and play basketball for a couple hours once a week to give my muscles a rest.

Abs and back you can do everyday though!
K, gotcha. Thanks, I'll do just that.
Just one question: aren't you supposed to work out your back no more than once a week? That's what I heard, it could be wrong...as kyle pointed out, I don't know a single thing about these kind of things. I wonder why I'm so out of shape, lol.

BTW: I play basketball almost everyday. lol

Yeah whenever you go to the gym, work different parts each day. Depending on how often you go.

Well, everyone will tell you something different. But in my studies (I took a few courses in school) and secondary research, I was told that core exercises can be done everday. That would include lower back and abs.

But make sure you do some research of your own not from an online forum before you start.
