What gets YOU going?

I want to know what gets you pumped when you are weight training/MMA training? Is there a song in your Ipod that makes you go crazy? Or do you have a goal that means so much that as soon as you think about it you can push yourself past your limits.
I get pumped as soon as I hear anything by slipknot, the beats and the aggression really helps set my mood in the gym! I also get pumped thinking about all the hard work I put into my training, and how good I feel about myself physically and mentally. And when I really cant get into my training I just think about there is a ton of other dudes out there training hard to kick my ass! I don't want that now do I?

I usually watch fights during training on a small moniter or something. When I'm boxing I like to watch Forrest Griffin or Chuck, but I'll watch pretty much anyone except Tim Sylvia when I'm doing other stuff.

I don't listen to much music when I'm training, I let it cool me down afterwards, but when I'm getting into a training session the only thing worth hearing is the sound of MMA.

Yah, Training with a freind helps me too.

Songwise, These are a couple of my favorites when training.

- Step Up By Drowning Pool
- It Takes A Seven Nation Army To Hold Us Back By Apathy
- Eye Of The Tiger (Remix) By Ice Cub & DMX

What gets me pumped is Bruce Lee, lol. I mean I'm not a Bruce Lee "nut-hugger" and I do believe that there were people in his time that could've destroyed him and there are a lot of people now that could destroy him. However, his workout habits were insane. I mean, I'm not going to lower my BF percentage to 1%, but I want to push myself over the edge. And he is sort of the "father of MMA".

And I don't listen to music while working out, because I usually start to either work out to the beat, or just rest and listen to the song. I'd like to hear myself think and daydream about what Bruce Lee would have done and all that.

If it's not Bruce Lee, it's the prospect that there are people much better than me out there. Just thinking about what I'd do if I was confronted by someone that disliked me - would I defend myself, or would I cave in to his demands?
Also, I like to think that I'm taking care of the gift that God gave me, and by not doing the best I can, I'm acting as if His gift meant nothing to me. I don't know. Maybe I'm just wierd.
