When I'm at my jiu jitsu and Muay Thai classes we listen to a lot of 311, Incubus, and Bob Marley. Usually pretty mellow stuff.

Metallica, ZZ top, ACDC, and alot of new hard rock and stuff. Sometimes if im just jogging on the treadmill i'll listen to rap cause its got a good beat to step to, but if im gonna sprint a couple laps then i gotta have something fast and its gotta be really loud. I can run twice as long with the right music rather than if i had no music at all. thank god for iPods.

In the gym I listen to trance, the fast beat sets a high pace and it is a hypnotic quality. With the aerobic stuff I can go 50% faster and twice as long if I listen to it. Right now I'm downloading the weekly 'state of trace' shows by Armin Van Buuren using bittorrent.
