train yourself till your pretty fit, do simple stuff like obviously cardio, some simple exercises and dumbbells
your at a young age (same age as me) just stay fit, once you think your ready go to some type of martial arts place.
by the time you get fit you might find a place nearby your house
just start googleing things that are nearby your house and it dont have to be nothing really grappling oriented, just something like a boxing or kickboxing gym, but if you find something that involves grappling, id join
i live 15 minutes away from this place that has a new Renzo Gracie gym that teaches all MMA stuff

Let me be the 1st and the last to address this issue with you Name goes here...
In short you know exactly what you are doing, and I will tell you.....Your being a smart ass and also causing forum disruptions as clearly this is a thread about the potential to get into MMA and a thread based on people's thoughts as to whether it is too late....
Not whether he needs to be motivated or only the motivated can help themselves...
Furthermore I will not sit around and read crap that you know your posting to get a rise...
So unless you actually have something to contribute to this thread, DONT!!!
Othewise your flirting with forum disruptions and baiting a moderator who has tried to subtley tell you what you already know your doing...
Enough...this is the warning!!!
Post on this thread again if you have advice, which was what was asked for, not smug short remarks that indicate your intentions.....
Intermission was looking for help not that garbage you posted........and you know this.....I dont need a Pm from you because I have made it all clear on this thread....
We are striving to make all our new members feel welcome and also make them feel as if they can openly ask these types of questions and your posts prevent people or discourage people from doing so, please understand and thank you in advance for your cooporation...

I am EXTREMELY determined to be a fighter. I am no stranger to cardio, I have been playing an elite level of soccer/football since I was 5 and cardio is essential. But I have lost it.
Oh and on a side note. I can't afford a membership to a Martial arts center right now nor do I have transportation to one.

In my opinion, you're not too young to start and it sounds like you have the drive.
The bottom line is that if you want to be a fighter, much less a pro. fighter, you need to find a way to pay for, and get in a MMA gym now. Period. There are no other substitutes. If you started training today, your first amateur fight will be in 1-2 years IF you go to the gym regularly. It takes that much time to become somewhat proficient in the things you need to learn and there are no shortcuts.
Good luck and keep your eyes on your goal.

Okay guys so I didn't join a MMA forum for no reason, truth is.. brace yourselves this is a shocker, I am OBSESSED with MMA. I am always thinking about MMA, I dream about MMA, well the list goes on.
Well the thing is, I am 17 years old, 155 lbs and out of shape. Heres where it hurts, I have 0 fight experience, never been in a street fight, and obv most importantly I have 0 martial arts experience. 0 Muay Thai, 0 Wrestling, 0 BJJ, 0 boxing.. well you get the idea. 0 training.
I am EXTREMELY determined to be a fighter. I am no stranger to cardio, I have been playing an elite level of soccer/football since I was 5 and cardio is essential. But I have lost it.
My question is, and PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE be real, yes or no and don't say yes because you love me (everyone )
Is there a possibility that I could be a successful professional mixed martial artist? I am willing to train all day everyday, I am willing to move to ******* Brazil to learn Jujitsu, I am just dam determined. So please tell me the truth. Because when I look at successful fighters they we these child prodigy's that won BJJ tournies at like 10 years old and stuff.
Oh and on a side note. I can't afford a membership to a Martial arts center right now nor do I have transportation to one.

Dude you are young as hell. You can become the next GSP if you put forth the hard work and start soon.
Dont doubt yourself you can accomplish anything with a lot of hard work.
Get your ass to a BJJ school soon. You will love it.

Your in a pretty good position, I didn't start till a couple of years later.
Push yourself hard at home with Cardio, I wouldn't stress to much about running down to your local MMA club yet, especially if it is going to be a huge hassle. Do a solid strength and conditioning program at home. Then in a year or so when you have your licence, head down to your local MMA club.
Also just a pointer, don't put anything like studies or other career opportunities on the back burner at this point. Not until you have done a year or two of solid MMA at a proper gym. Then make an assessment on whether it's something you want to do full time.
I used to think like you and thought that full time MMA would be a great thing. The truth is it's extremely hard work and it doesn't pay much. I love training but there is no way I would be interested in taking it to the next level. I train with pro fighters both in my home country and Thailand, these guys put themselves through absolute hell, I respect the heck out of them but I would never do it personally.
So at this stage, studies = #1, work your cardio and strength in your spare time, then see what the future holds.

Wow thank you everyone for your responses. I think what I am going to do is get my G2 very soon and drive my self to training, start off going 3x a week and then going more frequently before fights and when I start getting better to make the jump to pro (When I get there )

Good luck in your endeavors, but like Mir said earlier, don't bag on the school work.

Well I am not going to lecture you, but you shouldn't be depending everything on making it as a fighter. The chances of having enough natural determination/dedication, and also making through the first 5 years without a serious injury are very slim. Have a back up plan or suffer later.

Not doing school work is no where near MMA related. Its sheer hate for school. I know its stupid, trust me I know.
