I want to get into MMA

So I've been a fan of MMA for a few years now and love this sport more than anything. Now I want to get into it but I need some advice. Currently I am 6'1 and weigh only 120 lbs (yea I know, Im skinny). I'm very flexible, quick, and light on my feet. I want to fight at either 155 or 170 but the problem is getting there. I eat alot but just probly don't eat the right stuff to gain mass. Also what fighting styles would suit me best?

that is a lot of weight to put on, considering you are going to want to cut for the fight aswell...or you really dont have much hope of competing at your weight class... that extra 10-15 pound cut helps a lot

anyways, you're probably not eating enough, eat until you feel like you're going to burst, then eat some more...then go take a dump, and eat some more...eat a minimum of 5 meals a day, with ATLEAST 1.5grams of protein per pound of bodyweight you are at if you're going to try to gain this much weight, lift heavy, with little reps, and as a general rule, if it doesnt exist in nature, dont eat it...keeps you away from the bad stuff, eat plenty of green vegetables, and get a lot of fruit...stay away from simple carbs, get lots of good fats....and you'll be fine

Just stick to lifting heavy weights and eating heaps.
Compound movements - barbell squatting, deadlifting, pressing etc.
Since you're so skinny you can get away with eating a little junk now and then.
You're probably not eating as much as you think.
When you're full, your goal should be to eat some more.

Get some protein and carbs in there and lif weights to help build mass. Keep in mind that it is possible that you will lose some of the flexibility while gaining mass. Your cardio will definitely be affected if you do not keep up with it while bulking up.

As for the fighting style, it is really what you want to do. You are long and flexible so I think you would do well in BJJ. But wrestling, judo, or other disciplines would work great as well. Same for striking. Whatever you are interested in and will work hard and stick to, is what suits you the best.

I want to get into MMA too!

Taking the leap from being a spectator to someone who practices MMA is a really huge step, so let me begin by congratulating you on this big leap that you have made!

It's also a good thing that there are forums such as this that act as good venues for would-be or aspiring MMA practitioners like us.

As much as I would like to offer you good advice on what you should do regarding the fighting style, diet and training that you need to do. I think the other members have already given you great advice.

The only thing that I can add is for you to maximize the internet to be able to do what you want. There are so many resources on the net that will definitely give you sound tips to achieving your goal.

One of the sites that I found useful is http://traininginmma.com/ They have lots of great articles that have helped me and which I'm sure can help you too!
