Post How to train for my first fight in 2 months

Hey I am a 23 year old male who talked myself into a cage fight at an Indian Casino in May. I weigh 195. I have no experience, but will be getting some training. I do lift weights. I want to drop about 15-20 pounds, but keep the muscle I do have. I need some advice.

you should start training like never before if it's just 2 months left and btw, just lifting weights wont do it...you do train boxing, jiu jitsu and such right? i mean, you probably do cause i can't picture a guy having an mma debut and not training those but i asked cus you haven't mentioned any of it..pro mma fighters usually train like "train, eat, sleep, repeat" 2 months before the fight, ofcourse there are some people who can't afford that since they have a full time jobs etc. but that's how some people in our gym train and that's how most of famous fighters train and if you wanna dedicate yourself to mma 100% you gonna train like that too..you should start with talking to your coaches and create a plan about the whole thing cus preparations for the fight are much more intense then regular training...i'm not an expert and i have to admit i haven't been into a pro fight YET but i've seen people doing it, even those whose mma is a full time job, they train hard but the reward is big after you blast your oponents a*s! and i'm not even talking about money reward..true mma fighters whose main goal aint money hunting know what i'm talking about..so once again, meet with your coaches, create a plan, train as hard as possible, and good luck with your debut...a hard work is always rewarded, remember that!

Find out who you are fighting figure out what gameplan you need....It will be hard to drive a ground game home so better hope its not against a solid fighter. Start finding out how much you can cut DO NOT ASSUME!!! practice cuttin a few pounds a week goin through the steps and what not...Unless you want to go into the fight at your weigh-in weight. Also if you have never done this CARDIO and I dont mean running

Hey I just found out that I wont be fighting in May, Instead in July. So I got a little more time. And the only training I have had was a little boxing in college a year ago, very little. No wrestling or jiu jitsu. But I do plan on learning some. Maybe just enough to defend myself. I dont have any legit trainers, just a bunch of bros like myself who like to fight. What do you suggest?

I will be fighting a first timer also. So it will be pretty even. I dont really have anyone to train me. Cant afford it. Just a bunch of bros to spar with. That is why I am trying to learn as much as possible. What do you mean by cardio?

hmm is this an mma match or boxing match or??? if it's an mma match try to work on the ground game aswell cus you'll feel awkward if you get taken to the ground with no skills at all :P

If you have buddies that want to help you out look up drills on youtube and practice them....Im sure if you dont know what to look up just type in BJJ drills and something will pop up then go from there...What I mean by cardio is do sprints, HIIT, roll with your buddies for 2 minute rounds anything to get your blood pumping because its a whole different world when you step inside the cage. Dont just assume you can something....And you said your straped for cash I understand that but youtube is free and Hospital bills are expensive
