So help me out I smoke a lot

i smoke weed like every weekend for the past year. Im 16 years old and i work out a lot and i run on the treadmill a couple days a week...If i quit in the near future do you think i would be able to become a fighter and would my lungs go back to normal?

I'm no expert on the issue, but I'd assume that if the lungs can recover from the chemicals added to tobacco than the stuff in your weed (depending on who you get it from) shouldn't do that much damage to your lungs, but what it does do should be reversible.

Your lungs will definitely recover. You really have no idea how much cigarratte addicts smoke. Your once a week joint is absolutely nothing compared to them. If they could do it, you can do it. And it's not like it's a chemical that messes up your lungs when it comes to weed (like nicotine, with tobacco), it's the smoke itself. It's not too dangerous unless you do it every day for a long time. And it's still not as bad as cigarrettes. It's true the weed is equivalent to 4X a cigarrette - but think about this: the average joint weighs/contains less than the average cigarrette. And cigarrette smokers likely to get cancer smoke a pack a day...most regular weed smokers do a joint or two a week. Do the math, no where near as dangerous. Even if you do a joint everyday (which is pretty stupid, since it's not even addictive), it's still healthier than cigarrettes.

So yeah, with time, your lungs'll definitely be better.
P.S. I'm not a regular smoker (I smoke on certain times, like celebrations or something), but I've researched a lot on this subject. Weed is pretty harmless, unless you're the type of person that is easily obsessed - with anything, whether it be food, video games, etc.

For sure man. That is barely anything smoked if you ask me. I used to wake up smoke a joint and run on the treadmill 2 hours later for 30 min. at a time. I was smoking almost everyday and my wind was pretty damn good. You always hear about football stars being caught with pot from time to time. As long as you keep working out hard and pushing yourself it isn't going to effect you very much at all. Of course, if your serious about training then stop and focus on your workouts and not pot.

My advice to you is....Smoke til' you Choke. But seriously, smokings not all that good for you, however if you don't wanna give up the dro then theres a couple of things you can do. Blunts are more harsh for the lungs because the added tobacco. Pipes aren't filtered. Bongs are alright. Joints don't make me cough much. I've been smokin since I was 13 and just gave it up. I know a shitload about the drug and also about growin it. Its not that bad. To me less harmful than cigarettes and sometimes can be thought enhancing. Smoke if you want. Just be wise on the amount and the method.
