Training Barefoot
I just started training barefoot during the past few weeks - running, weightlifting, and bag work. Wondering how many of you guys do barefoot training and if you think there are benefits to running barefoot, in particular?

I run with the FiveFinger shoes and also lift weights with them. I dont know if you guys have seen these, they are kinda crazy but wearing them are the only way I can run barefoot without looking down watching for glass or whatever. check these things out if you havent seen them -

I do my boxing and grappling barefoot like everyone else if that helps lol. Running barefoot? sounds like it would tear up my knees and ankles hard core. Running with good bouncy running shoes hurts my knees if i push it

I don't know if you have tried those VFF's, but they are pretty much the same as barefoot.

Anyways, running barefoot is actually better for your knees and ankles. You will run with less impact while also strengthening muscles that you don't use as much with regular shoes on. There is alot of research about barefoot running and how it makes your body stronger. Just a thought, still interested to hear if anyone else is training, and running barefoot?

No experience with the five fingers, but I perform all my deadlift, squats, snatches, and cleans barefoot. Would not ever run barefoot regardless of the evidence it is better for you, I've injured my feet to much already.
I dont know if lifting barefoot is actually better, but it was how I was taught to do it.

Running barefoot on earth (not cement/concrete/asphalt) is amazingly healthier, easier, and better for strengthening your legs. Wearing shoes is entirely unnatural and causes humans to utilize the heel of the foot it what's known as the "cow walk" whereas someone who has never worn shoes utilizes the balls of their feet and walk in a way known as the "fox trot". It's a heavily studied subject. I have no idea about your weird feetie socks and shoes, they still constrict your feet in an unnatural manner and place rigid angles on your joints. That's my 2cents.
