Cardio?

I know this is a loaded question but what are some of the best ways to increase your cardio?

I hear run sprints & long-distance.

I hear various other things but what would be an overall plan that allows you to remain in a state where you're not gassed after the 1st,2nd or 3rd round?

I have one idea, but it'll be quite hard to tackle.

When I have a friend helping me he spots the heavy bag and acts as a corner-man giving me pointers on what combos should be coming and so-forth.. I call this spotted bag work.

I do at least one of these days a week right now the last one I did I went fight-pace for 10 5-minute periods with a minute to rest and get some water.

I've done 4-sessions so far. Ideally I want to work up to 5-sessions/weekly for 4-hours each session for the 1st 2 weeks of the 10th or 12th month of my training so I can have as much cardio as I can, while I look for an amateur fight.

Would this be a good way to build up cardio, if it isn't what would you suggest?

HIIT is the way to go imo, works better than anything i've tried.

bag work is fine and dandy but you're better off sparring with a live partner, a bag doesnt hit back.

HIIT is the abbreviated form for High Intensity Interval Training. This is a training procedure wherein you burn more calories in a shorter period of time. Here you work out on any of the cardio for a specific interval at a very high intensity, after you reach your maximum capacity stop doing and rest for about a minute of two before you start the process again. The shorter you take to revive yourself the better is your capacity. Hope that this does provide a brief preview about HIIT.

On another note for cardio.. I like to sprint hills. Some tread mills high dollar ones have a nice program for it . But if ya dont have access find a steep ass hill and sprint it jog back down and sprint it again. Your rest is your jog. do this for 20 mins straight .

Hey ZENKI1, I am in luck I am surrounded by steep-hills within a 25-mile radius of the home.

I am also in luck, back in Highschool I was on the cross-country team. In that respect I have the capability to torture myself with long runs that exceed 8-miles.

I plan on buying a 40-pound vest sooner or later, this will be brutal but I remember as a runner my legs were incrediably strong.

Honestly I hate running lol.. Thats why I sprint hills .. Its like cheating my runs lol..
