Punch-drills
I got another good question for all of you guys.
I like all of you are looking for a good way to work on cardio more than likely.
I do not mind pushing my body beyond exhaustion and have been working on punch-technique slash endurance drills.
I have counted out-loud while I do the sessions and I know that I have done two full-sessions currently of 2 thousand jabs for my left and right hands.
Along with 2,400 strikes per hand with two sets of combos.
I have done sets of 100 jabs and rotate back and forth giving myself enough rest for the arm that is not moving to catch-up and then go for the 100-count.
I am mainly looking for good technique and I sweat my ass off doing this style of work.
For the combos they are simple ones right now left jab, left jab, right straight and mix the jab to the right hand and a straight left. 100 combos per side and switch it back and forth till 4 sets have been done.
I am curious is this working more along a line of thought used in karate within the boundaries of katas or forms?
If it is...is this a bad thing to be doing?
Each of my sessions equal 4,400 total strikes, if I could spend my mornings doing a session and one at night I would. I just want to see how beneficial it would be...before diving into it head-on.
