Looking for a weightclass.

So guys, im looking to start getting into some training/competing. And my question to you all is what weightclass i should be competing at.

I guess ill throw some stats in so you can judge.

Age:20
Height: 6'0
Weight:155-160
Reach: 75"

So my question is, should i try and bulk up and compete at 170 or should i stay relatively small and compete at 155?

Also, my fathers side of the family is rather large. They are all about 6'0-6'3 and about 230+

So im assuming that eventually ill blow up but as of now i cant seem to gain much weight.

PS: I feel like if i were to compete at 155 and even 170 i would be a giant compared to most of them.

"Corazon de un Leon"

To whomever keeps deleting my sig, the size is 408x220 the rules state it must be smaller than 420x220, thus i am not breaking the rules.

I think you should just train hard and find whats natural for you.

People like Fedor don't cut weight, just saying.

Im 21 years old 6' and walk around at 165 and i cut to 145 for my fights, the key is cutting the weight correctly and the most important is gaining it back before the fight correctly. if your state is sanctioned then you will most likely weigh in the day before. So when i weigh in at 145 by the time i fight the next night around 10pm i will be walking around close to my normal weight

Since you are my height i would work on alot of kicks. It is very easy if trained in kicking to get alot of head kicks. Iv ended the last 2 fights with kicks to the head

People like Fedor don't have a weight limit within a reasonable distance of their walking weight either. At ~240 he'd be cutting 35lbs to get to LHW, which is WAY too much.

As for you Dakota, head for 145 buddy. 10 lbs aint shit to cut (literally an hour and a half in a sauna and or running in sweats). I cut 10 for my last fight any I've never even cut weight before. And you're right, at 145 and 6'0 you'll be a monster.
