Take me down to a mil with 134k on Skyscraper. I'd have thought it'd closer to a coin flip. I know Stefan is inconsistent and turns things into a brawl when he shouldn't, but feel he's making progress. Stipe to suffer his first loss.
Round 1 - Here we go for the main event. Herb Dean brings the two together. They slap hands before the fight. Lots of heavyweight implications on the line for the winner. Miocic starts center and works a leg kick, then throws a jab. He gets inside and lands a 1-2 as Struve covers up. Then a couple more jabs push Struve back. Then Miocic quickly comes with a left that sneaks through. Then another. Struve goes high with a kick, but it's not there. Miocic with a left to the body, then up high with a right. Struve works a couple kicks, then tries an uppercut that is off the mark. Miocic continues to land nicely, then blocks a high kick. He doesn't seem to be terribly bothered by Struve's size and reach. He lands a left, then a counter right. High kick from Struve glances and he tries to take advantage as Miocic backs up. Struve just misses a knee to the chin, but Miocic again fires off that right hand, then has a nice body-head combo. As Struve gets inside with a kick, Miocic helps him to the ground, but as soon as Struves works toward a leg, Miocic gets out of there. Back standing, Miocic lands a nice right hand counterpunch that has Struve off balance for a second. More body-head from Miocic, and he then catches a Struve kick and lands some more. Struve gets inside with a knee. Miocic lands a nice left, then a two-punch combo just before the horn. It's a 10-9 round for Miocic on the MMAjunkie.com scorecard.
Round 2 - Miocic tries to get inside, but Struve catches him low. Miocic takes a second, but he's OK. On the restart, he lands a great combination that has Struve backing up. Struve tries to get inside and get Miocic's neck, but Miocic is quickly and wisely out of there. Struve firing off left jabs now. Struve scores with a couple punches, but Miocic comes right back to the body, and Struve starts to answer. He has Miocic hurt and running. He chases him down and gets a few shots off before Micoic recovers and pushes him away. Miocic just misses a big uppercut, then eats one. Struve lands three big shots that have Miocic's spit flying. Then he tries to come over the top with an eoblw. Miocic lands a right that has Struve falling backward. Struve then lands a left jab that pops Miocic's head back. They continue slinging. Struve landing big punches and Miocic just taking them. Then to the body from Miocic. And then a massive flurry from Struve along the cage has Miocic stumbling. He's landing at will, and Dean gets in there to stop any further damage. Its a good stoppage. Miocic definitely was out on his feet and being helped up by the cage. Stefan Struve def.
