Round 2 - Assuncao whiffs on a high kick, as does Easton. Assuncao still content to let Easton come to him. Assuncao misses a kick but comes back with a slick backfist that scores. Leg kicks traded. Low kick from Assuncao, but he eats a counter. Assuncao starting to walk forward a bit, and Easton looks a little out of sorts in terms of rhythm. Easton complains of an eyepoke, but Newport didn't see anything, so the fight carries on. Halfway mark, and big exchanges. Assuncao into the clinch, and he lands a knee to the cup. Assuncao didn't think it was low, but Easton gets a break. Easton aggressive again on the restart. He's definitely moving forward, but Assuncao seems to be more effective in his efforts. Crowd wants the pace to quicken. Assuncao kicks the face and the leg. Easton shoots in, but Assuncao sprawls and pulls easily away in the final minute. Assuncao misses a spinning backfist and stays upright when Easton pushes in. Another close round, but MMAjunkie.com leans toward Assuncao, 10-9.

Round 3 - Easton again the one moving forward, but he's unable to really land anything. Kick to the body for Assuncao, who follows again with a left. Assuncao switches to southpaw and lands two punches. He's managing the distance well and staying away from opponent's attacks while launching his own. Assuncao shoots in and looks for a takedown. He gets Easton off-balance but can't take top position. Easton scrambles away, though Assuncao chases and shoots in again. Halfway mark, and Assuncao tries again for a takedown that won't come. Crowd again implores action, but Assuncao is using smart tactics as he stay away from the big shots. Assuncao pushes in again to the clinch but lets it go as the final minute opens. Easton kicks low but eats a counter. Assuncao a little off-balance, and Easton wants a takedown, but the Brazilian pulls away.Round ends just as it played out all along. Close again, but MMAjunkie.com leans toward Assuncao, 10-9, and awards him the fight 29-28. Raphael Assuncao def. Mike Easton via unanimous decision (29-28, 30-27, 30-27).
