Round 1 - Herb Dean sees his first action of the night as our ref, and we're underway. Robertson wants the takedown early, but Pierson defends and stays standing. A few strikes, but Pierson sprawls nicely out of another Robertson takedown attempt. Pierson looking for a front choke, but it's not there, and Robertson takes his back. Lots of time to work. Robertson landing some good punches from his back, but Pierson eventually pops out and is going to look for a front choke again. Robertson defends and Pierson lands a knee to the body. Robertson back up, though, and they break about midway through. Couple kicks from Robertson, and he then lands a left hand. Takedown for Robertson, but Pierson is on top. They'll scramble for position, and it's Pierson on top. Robertson trying to scramble out, but Pierson doing a nice job controlling. Pierson's cut under his right eye, and they're back to standing with 45 seconds left. They trade, and Pierson lands a nice combo before eating a kick. He lands a few more in the round's waning seconds, and that will steal a close one for Pierson on the MMAjunkie.com card, 10-9.

Round 2 - They trade again early. Robertson landing some good kicks, then a knee as he tries to increase the pace of things. He circles outside and eats a head kick. Superman punch from Pierson. Robertson's mouth is open. Body punch from Pierson ends with a slip. Pierson looks a little fresher right now. But a spinning back fist lands for Robertson. Pierson lands a combo with a left at the end. Winging body punch from Robertson lands, but it doesnt' seem to hurt Pierson. With three minutes left, he lands a straight left. Robertson counters with a body kick. But Pierson lands a big head kick again with the left leg and a straight left. Robertson gets defensive and shoots in for a takedown. Pierson defends and looks for a choke. But he loses it and Robertson is on top. Pierson looking for a guillotine, but it won't be there from his guard. A few good punches from Robertson up top, but Pierson is mostly defending. The top position for Robertson makes it closer, but Pierson did a lot more early. He gets the round 10-9 on the MMAjunkie.com unofficial scorecard.

Round 3 - Robertson lands a big elbow and he wobbles Pierson. He's landing big punches. Bunches. Pierson trying to survive. He's all kinds of dazed. Robertson trying to finish, and Pierson holds on and goes to the ground just to keep from eating the bombs on his feet. Pierson is getting a chance to recover down on the ground. But Robertson starts landing a few punches. He's got Pierson's back and is trying to flatten him out. Robertson just landing short shots at will, keeping latched on to Pierson's back. With 90 seconds left, Pierson is purely defensive. It's hard to say just how effective the short punches are, but Pierson tries to push out. Robertson keeping locked on his back. He'll go for a late choke, but Pierson survives and finishes on top. Clear 10-9 round for Robertson, but MMAjunkie.com has the fight for Pierson 29-28 based on the first two frames. Sean Pierson def. Kenny Robertson via majority decision (29-28, 29-28, 28-28)
