Round 1 - Dan Miragliotta will officiate for Indiana's Elkins. Elkins takes the center and lands a 1-2 early. Good overhand left for Elkins, and then he tries to back Hioki up with a body shot that's just off the mark. Hioki lands a kick to the body, but Elkins contineus to come forward with quick combos. Hioki lands and backs Elkins up for a moment, but Elkins fires back. All on the feet so far, and Hioki is bleeding. Elkins circles outside and tries to catch a kick, but he can't use it. Hioki kicks again, and Elkisn works for a takedown. He can't get it, and Hioki tries to land a knee on the exit. Hioki's kicking to the body, and then lands a straight right. But seconds later, Elkings puts him against the fence and lands big combinations. He's got Hioki hurt. Elkins hears the crowd, and he raises his hands to lead them on. But Hioki gets another teep through and hurts Elkins to the body. He's got Elkins in trouble now. He goes after a choke, but Elkins defends. Hioki is doing well on the ground, but Elkins escapes and briefly goes after a leglock. But after getting back to his feet, Hioki drags it to the floor again. Elkins will survive the round, and though he was doing good early work, Hioki will get a 10-9 round on the MMAjunkie.com scorecard.

Round 2 - Elkins' corner wants him to stop backing up. So he comes forward and lands a big combination quickly. Then another one with a left. He throws a Superman punch that lands. Hioki goes after a takedown and gets it, but Elkins escapes and gets to his feet. Elkins kicks to the body, then tries to land a right when Hioki catches it. Hioki lands a knee to the body, then tries to teep another couple times. Elkins gets inside and Hioki isn't afraid to stand right in front of him and trade back. A high kick from Elkins is blocked. Hioki swings over the top, but Elkins lands a good double-leg takedown. He'll go to work out of Hioki's guard. He tries to take Hioki's back, and he nearly has it. He'll settle for side control and starts landing some good ground-and-pound as the crowd gets behind him. But Hioki recovers to guard. He's got 90 seconds left to work on the position. Hioki gets back to his feet, but Elkins holds on – as Hioki tries for a kimura. He may have it. The fight hits the ground, but takes Elkins' back with 45 seconds left. Elkins escapes, but Hioki is on top. Hioki wants the triangle, but doesn't have it and it'll be Elkins on top as the round winds down. MMAjunkie.com will give the second to Elkins, 10-9.

Round 3 - Good ovation from the crowd at the start of what the paying customers have deemed the best fight so far. Hioki looks to land those kicks again, and Elkins is again trying to land combos. He has Hioki backed toward the fence, and he scoops inside with a double-leg takedown and now will have to work out of Hioki's guard. Elkins lands some good punches there. Hioki will want to look for a triangle or an arm from his back. Elkins postures up and lands a good left hand. Then a right. Then another left. Midway through the round, Elkins has taken control of the round – and for that matter, probably the fight. He tries to step over to side control, but gives it up. Hioki trying to control Elkins' arms to limit the ground-and-pound. Hioki wants that triangle , then perhaps an omoplata. But Elkins again defends. With a minute left, Elkins gets to half-guard, and he keeps Hioki pinned at the fence. He works more punches to the head and body, completely stifling him most of this round. With 15 seconds left, Elkins lands a few big punches. He'll win the round 10-9 on the MMAjunkie.com card, and should win the fight 29-28.

Result: Darren Elkins def. Hatsu Hioki via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)
