Mitchell again looks for a leg, but Cabral spins free and takes the top. Cabral sets up the arm-triangle attempt, but Mitchell feels it and resists. Cabral lets it go, stands, and moves again into side control. As Mitchell turns to get to his knees, Cabral wants the back. Mitchell works up to his feet and even works to a slick rolling kimura attempt, but Cabral slips out. Mitchell showing life underneath, and he looks for an arm. Cabral pulls free and stays on top. Mitchell tries to get up, but Cabral is tied to his body and drags him again to the floor. Mitchell won't stay on the floor, but he also gets no room to breathe, and MMAjunkie.com gives Cabral another round, 10-9.

Round 3 - Mitchell pulls short on a kick to start. He's again walking forward. Cabral kicks the leg and then just misses high. Mitchell is pushing forward with punches, and he moves into the clinch. Nothing there, and he pulls away, just avoiding a big right hand. Mitchell fires a jab, but Cabral just slips under it and drives him to the floor. Mitchell tries to set up a gogo plata, but Cabral pulls easily away. Mitchell secures his opponent's left wrist, but he can't capitalize, and Cabral pulls free as he moves swiftly into mount. Beautiful transition. Mitchell alert underneath, and Cabral moves out to side control. Mitchell turns to his knees, and Cabal moves to the back. No quit at all, and Mitchell spins in and away from the choke. But Cabral is putting on a grappling clinic and gets the back again. Mitchell turns yet again to escape. Cabral postures, and Mitchell tries for a triangle choke. It's an earnest attempt that causes some tension, but Cabral pulls free and tries again for the arm-triangle. Mitchell is tough as nails and survives yet again. Round ends there, and it's Cabral again, 10-9, taking the fight 30-27.

Result: Yan Cabral def. David Mitchell via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)
