Round 1 - Roop goes with a body kick that hits his shorter opponent's head. Rivera pops a shot and presses Roop against the cage while delivering some knees. Roops tries to answer, but Rivera is ready, Roop gets some distance and moves in but eats some shots. However, he gets the takdown passes to side control with little room to work against the cage. Rivera tries to get up, but Roops remains heavy on top. Roop delivers some punches to a sitting Rivera and looks to pull him away from the cage. Rivera, though, keeps his back against the cage. Rivera scrambles and gets to his feet, but Roop stays on him tightly and presses him against the fence. The ref calls for a restart. Roop shoots but eats a right, delivers a knee, and then eats another right. A "Roop, there it is!" cheer can be heard from an immediately embarrassed soldier. Rivera lands a short uppercut, resets, and fights off Roop's clinch attempt. Roop grazes him with a head kick and then fails on a takedown before the round ends. It's close, but MMAjunkie.com scores it 10-9 for Rivera.

Round 2 - The fighters look for high kicks early and swing wildly with little landing. The overhand punches are telegraphed. River gets through a nice two-punch combo and smiles as Roop shakes it off. Roop lands a kick to the ol' beanbag, and a timeout is called. On the restart, Rivers lands a couple overhand rights, stuffs a takedown and unloads more punches. Roop is in trouble against the cage and eats more shots. He tries to run away, but Rivera swarms. Roop stays alive, gets to his feet, but is demolished with another swarm of punches for a quick and violent beating.

Result: Francisco Rivera def. George Roop via TKO (strikes) - Round 2, 2:20
