Round 1 – Kawajiri takes the center and pumps a jab. Sorianos defends a takedown. He kicks the legs. Sorian with a stiff jab. Kawajiri misses on another takedown. Soriano looks quick to start. Kawajiri pushes forward anyway and does get inside. Still, he can’t get Soriano down. Back in the center. Kawajiri just misses a spinning elbow. Soriano striking when he can. Kawajiri gets inside again. He gets the fight down, but Soriano pops back up and fires elbows against the fence. Kawajiri stays right and gets another takedown. Soriano showing a lot of skill, but Kawajiri is unrelenting. He gets to the back of a kneeling opponent. Kawajiri starts to look for the choke. He squeezes an attempt, but Soriano turns in and stays safe. Kawajiri has a figure-four around the body, and Soriano is stuck. Kawajiri wants the choke. Soriano not willing to give up. Kawajiri flattens him out and punches. He looks again for the choke. Not there, so he strikes away. Soriano survives, but Kawajiri takes the first, 10-9 on the MMAjunkie card.

Round 2 – Kawajiri immediately gets on tight. Soriano briefly slips outside, but Kawajiri reverses the position and brings the fight to the floor. Kawajiri in a good spot, and he gets the arm under the neck. This time, he gets it. Soriano goes out just as he taps. Nice finish.

Result: Tatsuya Kawajiri def. Sean Soriano via technical submission (rear-naked choke) – Round 2, 0:50
