Dutra misses a spinning kick. Kunimoto works the leg again and just avoids a big counter. Kunimoto has the timing right now, and he scores with strikes before moving in for a takedown. Dutra defends and drops five elbows to the back of the head. Kunimoto falls, and referee John Sharp steps in. Doctors step in to look at Kunimoto, but he isn’t looking like he’ll recover. Sure enough, this fight is over. The blows certainly looked intentional, and it is ruled a disqualification.

Result: Kiichi Kunimoto def. Luiz Dutra via disqualification (illegal elbows) – Round 1, 2:57
