Round 1 – Herb Dean will oversee our main event. Rockhold, a lefty, opens in southpaw stance and circles to the right. Rockhold patient early, then kicks to the body of Philippou. Philippou tries to kick high, but it’s blocked. He punches to the body, but there’s not much there. Philippou tries to get inside and eats a short shot, but Rockhold lands a big right that briefly puts Philippou on his knees. The two tie up for a moment, then Philippou pushes off. A left kick from Rockhold is on the button, but Philippou gives chase. He’s bleeding from his nose, but Rockhold kicks to the body. Then again, and he drops Philippou with a giant body kick. Philippou hits his knees, and Rockhold lands one more just as Dean gets in to stop it. Precisely the type of finish that Rockhold was looking for after his loss to Vitor Belfort – by head kick – in May 2013.

Result: Luke Rockhold def. Constantinos Philippou via TKO (body kick) – Round 1, 2:31

Really? Great fight? Great fights are a competitive, back and forth battles.

It was a good clean KO, but far from a great fight imo.
