He turns to the side, and Hallmann peppers him with elbows to the ribs. Hallmann tries to take the neck as Edwards works up. He can’t, but he gets the action down again. Edwards with a smooth scramble to the back in the closing seconds, but Hallmann turns in to avoid any concern. Round ends, and MMAjunkie gives it to Hallmann, 10-9.

Round 2 – Hallmann busy again to start. He lands a nice knee, but there’s another eye poke. Yamasaki gives a warning as Edwards recovers, but he does not take a point. Hallmann offers his glove on the restart, and then they start swinging. Hallmann really looking for the knee to the body. He also wants a takedown, but Edwards defends well. Hallmann kicks the body, and now it’s Edwards who lands with a finger to the eye. We get yet another timeout. Really tough to get a flow with the restarts. Hallmann pushes forward when it’s back to live action. Again, he knees to the body and then looks for the takedown. Edwards defends. Edwards doing a good job of staying upright, and now he moves around to his opponent’s back as they work on the feet. He wants to get in position for a submission, but Hallmann uses the fence to prevent the pass and then pushes his opponent to the floor. Hallmann again in top position. Edwards turns to his knees, and Hallmann grinds away with punches and elbows. Edwards gets to his feet, but Hallmann is right back in on the takedown. Hallmann trying to get to the back but settling for strikes instead. Edwards crawls up, but Hallmann’s pressure is relentless. Round ends, and MMAjunkie gives it to Hallmann, 10-9.

Round 3 – Hallmann again pressing to start. Leaping left hand scores. Edwards is content to counter. He’s doing some damage, but Hallmann is the one really using his volume to score points. He finally gets the action to the floor, and Edwards is running out of time. Edwards not taking a lot of damage right now, but Hallmann is in absolute control. As Edwards tries to turn and escape, Hallmann sneaks in a rear-naked choke. It’s instantly tight, and Edwards has to tap.
