Round 1 – A heavyweight ref, Dan Miragliotta, will oversee these two big guys. May throws a big right early. Jordan lands a left, then tries to put a combo together. He gets inside and lands a couple solid punches. Then he ducks away from May’s hope for a home-run shot. Jordan circles outside looking for an angle. May tries a high kick, but it’s not quite there. Jordan pushes in with a combination to the body, but a May counter lands. As May pushes in, Jordan lands a quick combo and ties May up. But May punches to the body to separate. Both fighters land heavy punches, but it’s Jordan who shows a couple small cuts on his face. May lands to the body after Jordan tries to go upstairs. With 45 seconds left, Jordan gets a lovely little takedown, changing from a single to a double right against the fence. He lands some elbows to the body from half-guard. That takedown may have stolen the round for him. MMAjunkie will give Jordan a pretty close first round, 10-9.

Round 2 – Jordan tries to land a right, then May lands a huge left hand and a right behind it that has Jordan retreating. The bomb cuts Jordan a little more, and he’s now got blood running down his chest starting from his right eye. Right hand again lands for May. Then a left. And then he lands a massive barrage. Miragliotta tells Jordan to protect himself, and just as it looks like Miragliotta should step in, with May punishing Jordan, Jordan fires back, buys himself some time, then lands a takedown and actually gets to mount for a moment. May looks like he’s tiring, and Jordan lands some punches and again gets to full mount. May pushes off the cage to escape the mount, but Jordan looks for a crucifix. He stays in control with more than a minute left. he looks for an arm triangle, but it’s not there. Still he pops back to mount once again. Jordan steals another one after surviving big trouble. He gets the round, 10-9.

Round 3 – The crowd cheers the big guys as they meet in the middle and give a half-hug for a job well done so far. May tries for a knee 35 seconds in, but Jordan gets a takedown and takes back mount. Jordan starts pounding as May tries to buck his way out. May is purely defensive at this point. Jordan is landing short punches to the face, hammer fists, elbows … throwing everything at him. Miragliotta tells May to get out of the bad spot, but he can’t do it. Jordan gets his butt kicked in the second round, but then comes back to look dominant after that. He gets the TKO stoppage.

Result: Shawn Jordan def. Jack May via TKO (punches) – Round 3, 2:03
