Is anybody watching Forrest talk about Shogun on UFC Countdown to 76..
..its halarious..
He's like "Shogun is deadly with his punches, kicks, and knees. So, I need to watch out for his punches, kicks, and knees. He's great in the clinch and has great BJJ. But other than that, he's got nothing."
.. Are you kidding me?
He really knows he's gonna get killed, there is nothing he does better than Shogun.
So, he pretty much said that Shogun has
-deadly strikes
-great in the clinch
-great BJJ
what else do you want him to say? he is the second coming of Jesus?
How do you guys expect Forrest to act? Should be acknowlege his defeat or give away his game plan? HELL NO. And Forrest winning would not be the biggest upset by a long shot!
Look at GSP and Serra, 1st round KNOCK out by a guy who is like 5'6 and has the smallest arms ive ever seen and got his title shot through a tv show haha now that my friend is a HUGE UPSET
Forrest asked for Shogun and he knows that he has nothing to lose in getting defeated by possibly the best LHW in the world.
Being a talented tough guy who keeps improving and trains very intensely, Forrest can't be counted out. Though his task will be a tall one.
If I had to bet, I'd go with Shogun. He's the logical choice to win. It seems like Forrest knows it too.
But, that's what makes Forrest dangerous here: no one expects him to win and he has nothing to lose.
Watch NFL games at the end of the season where one team is mathematically eliminated from the playoffs (the spoiler team) and the other team has to win the game to make the playoffs.
The spoiler team has nothing to lose and sometimes uses very unorthodox plays that are normally not used in professional football games. The results have brought many of these spoiler teams victory because it's hard to defend what is not traditionally done.
I'm not predicting a Griffen victory, but he poses a dangerous threat because he has nothing to lose. And rememeber, he asked for this fight and he's training with Randy who has predicted most of the upsets that have taken place. Couture pulled off two of them himself.
Randy is great at figuring out strategies to beat opponents. Think he's helping Forrest with startegy? That seems like a safe bet.
Maybe you shouldn't bet on Forrest, but you shouldn't count him out.
