By special request. At first I thought Gono was going to win, but I thought about it a lot and decided that McCrory has a real good chance at pulling off the upset.

Thank you so much SNS..im putting 200k on Gono:)
oh you also made a simple mistake..Gono's height isn't 183lbs

screenamesuck 11-04-2007 11:07 PM

Thanks for pointing that out

hammafist 11-05-2007 12:46 AM

it will be interesting seeing two fighters cutting way down to 170, but i still see Gono pulling this one off

have to wait closer to the event to bet points

Not many people know of Mcrory buy I think he's gonna take it to the ground and give Gono fits. Mcrory via RNC.

Common Akihiro ftw! read this guy's interview on UFC.com

Thoughts on opponent, Tamdan McCrory? He's so tall and in the welter class - that's not fair. (Laughs) I'm thinking about what to do.
When and why did you start training for fighting? I started when I was 18years old, to be popular with girls. The result is...it's gotten better.
If any list specific accomplishments in amateur competition? 3-time champion in All-Japan Martial Arts Championship
If any, list specific accomplishments in pro competition? Champion in Japan national kickboxing championship, PRIDE Grand Prix 3rd place in 2005 (Welter class), PRIDE Grand Prix 3rd place in 2006 (same)
If any, list ranks in any martial arts styles:
Favorite grappling technique: None. I don't like groundwork technique with guys too much. (Laughs)
Favorite Striking technique: Anything goes. There's a technique I'm developing/practicing recently and it's called "Japppaaaaan" What it is? That's a secret.
Do you have any heroes? Tsuyoshi Shinjyo (played in Major League in 2001-2003: NY Mets & SF Giants), do American people remember him? Ichiro, Roy Jones Jr.
What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? It's like I'm a Japanese major league player. So there's Ichiro Suzuki, Daisuke Matsuzaka, then Akihiro Gono...
Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? I didn't go to college.
What was your job before you started fighting? I drove a truck. I've never disappointed anyone with my driving.

Also he's fought nine minutes with Shogun and has fought most of his time, like Chonan, as a MW

I am calling McCrory with the upset. His opponents aren't that impressive but his performances clearly have been.

This is hard for me to pick. Gono is the more established fighter and probably has better standup, but he's content on not trying to learn a good ground game, so he could get exposed pretty easily in this fight. I don't know who Tamden is but I might have to bet on him just for the odds and the fact that the Japanese fighters haven't been doing too well with the crossover.

I see the odds have moved up guys, so place your bets if you want to make some serious winnings
