Round 1 - Referee Leon Roberts oversees this battle of undefeated welterweights. Scanlon gets a heaping round of boos while Krauss gets the screams (surprise, surprise). Scanlon with a couple of hooks to start things off. Krauss slow in. The two trade leg kicks. Scanlon fires hard with a few more hooks and gets Krauss' attention. Kraus with a leg kick. He drives for another takedown and the two lock up against the cage. Scanlon looks for the knee up the middle. The two wrestle for position against the cage. Now it's Krauss taking Scanlon down and raining down left hands. Scanlon barely hanging on to half guard and tries to stand up against the cage. Krauss with some solid knees as Scanlon spins out, and he earns another takedown. He's working to pass guard, and he postures up with some big shots from near-mount. Scanlon gets half-guard back, but he take a few short shots in the process. MMAjunkie.com scores the round 10-9 for Krauss, who stole it in the second half.

Round 2 - Scanlon meets Krauss' advance with more hooks, which are blocked. Krauss lands a leg kick, but Scanlon returns with more punches that rock Krauss. They lock up against the cage briefly. Scanlon pursing with more hooks, and he's landing. Krauss ties it up and drives them to the cage. He trips Scanlon to the mat and works short elbows from half-guard. Scanlon wall walks to escape and ends up where he started. Krauss with more short elbows. German audience really digging it. Body-body-head combo for Krauss. He stands overhead as Scanlon rolls for a knee. No dice. Krauss stacks up and reigns down more punches. He takes a knee-on-belly position and briefly gets mount. Scanlon regains half-guard. Krauss again passes and gets mount. Scanlon rolls to his knees, and Krauss has his back. Krauss nearly has the choke. Scanlon wiggles out the back door, reverses, and takes top position. Nice reversal. Krauss kicks him off as the round ends. Scanlon came on strong in the first and last part of round, but Krauss dominated most of the time, so MMAjunkie.com scores it 10-9 for the German.

Round 3 - Scanlon opens with a leg kick. Follow-up punches are mostly blocked. Scanlon's body shot gets through. Then a nice left hook. Scanlon then charges and gets an easy takedown. He works to pass guard. Scanlon postures up and throws a few elbows overhead. He gives Krauss some space, and Krauss uses it to get up. Scanlon lands a nice punch. Krauss returns fire, and Scanlon again charges forward and gets a takedown. Scanlon stands, though, and Krauss follows. Referee Roberts stops the action to take care of Scanlon's glove. On the restart, Scanlon connects with a huge combination of punches, which prompts an immediate shot from Krauss. Scanlon retorts with a guillotine, and it looks bad. But after a few tense seconds, Krauss escapes. Scanlon thinking about an armbar. The pace has worn on both men. Scanlon with elbows to Krauss' dome. Krauss stands up, and Scanlon tries to go with him. Instead, Krauss surges into side mount and locks in a crucifix. Scanlon is trapped and getting the B.J. Penn treatment. Krauss hammering away with short punches as Scanlon attempts to defend. Once again, it looks like the German stole the round, and MMAjunkie.com scores it 10-9 for Krauss in the final frame for an overall score of 30-27. Pascal Krauss def.
