Round 1 - Referee Herb Dean in charge of the evening's main event, and the Bell Centre is absolutely electric. They meet in the center, and St-Pierre pops a few jabs. St-Pierre with an early takedown, but Koscheck stands up against the cage. St-Pierre working a jab and a low kick early. Koscheck yet to really offer a return. Chants in the arena are deafening. St-Pierre lands stiff right and follows immediately with a jab. St-Pierre shoots again, but Koscehck stays up. Low kick from St-Pierre, then a Superman that's just short. Koscheck stays in a low stance, but he's yet to really attack. Two minutes in. Stiff jab from St-Pierre. Koscheck defends another takedown. Koscheck misses a 1-2. St-Pierre lands a right, then pops tow jabs. St-Pierre has a high kick blocked, but it's obvious he's feeling comfortable. Koscheck slips a left and misses on a counter. St-Pierre's jab continues to find a home. Koscheck's hoots in, but he telegraphed it. He does again, and St-Pierre defends against the cage. One minute left. Koscheck with a foot stomp. Koscheck drops low and continues to drive in, but St-Pierre remains upright. Koscheck finally elevates St-Pierre and slams him to the floor, but there's little time to work. Round will end with Koscheck on top, but it's St-Pierre's round on the MMAjunkie.com card, 10-9.
Round 2 - Koscheck's right eye is already busted up badly and closing. St-Pierre has an easy target. Superman lands. St-Pierre continues to work the low kick and the jab. Koscheck just misses the right hand counter. Koscheck knows he need to press. St-Pierre remaining patient on the outside and picking his spots. Outside leg kick fro St-Pierre. There's no way Koscheck can see out of that eye. Deafening chants of "F*** you, Koscheck." Stay classy, Montreal. Koscheck continues to move in and does land a right hand. St-Pierre with a lead uppercut. Superman lands. Koscheck trying desperately to land that big right, but St-Pierre is moving away well. Koscheck looks for a takedown, but it's not there. Two minutes remain, and St-Pierre is picking Koscheck apart on the feet. St-Pierre checks the clock. More kicks form St-Pierre to the inside and outside of the leg. Koscehck does get his brief brawl in the pocket, but St-Pierre gets the best again. Koscheck whiffs on a big uppercut, but he's not backing down. St-Pierre continues to pump the jab. St-Pierre switches stances and leaps in during the closing seconds, but it's another one in the books for St-Pierre, 10-9 on the MMAjunkie.com card.
Round 3 - St-Pierre immediately jabs again. Koscheck trying to answer, but St-Pierre mixing in kicks, as well. St-Pierre appears completely uninterested in a takedown through two rounds, but he does try briefly for one here. Koscheck stuffs it. St-Pierre moves into the clinch. St-Pierre drives in and lands a few short knees. Koscheck does circles off, but St-Pierre switches it again almost immediately. Two minutes in, and St-Pierre drops a level. Koscheck sniffs it out, and the two are working for position inside. Dean watching closely. Koscheck circles off, and they break. St-Pierre returns to the jab. More stiff jabs from St-Pierre. He moves into the clinch again. Koscheck looks calm inside, but he is being handled soundly right now. St-Pierre pulls away and they reset in the center. More jabs from St-Pierre and a right hand. Koscheck whiffs on a kick. St-Pierre dances away and checks the clock. Less than a minute. More low kicks and jabs from St-Pierre. Koscheck has no answer. He's looking for a big homerun blow, but it's not there. Another round over, another 10 points for St-Pierre. Nine for Koscheck on the MMAjunkie.com card.
Round 4 - Doctors take a long look at Koscheck's eye, which is all but closed. He wants to fight. Doctor lets him, but it appears he warns this may be the final round. St-Pierre opens up the attack. Kicks, punches and then a textbook takedown. Koscheck scrambles up and then latches on St-Pierre's leg as he looks to channel Chael Sonnen for some type of submission. St-Pierre wiggles free and presses Koscheck into the cage as they return to the feet. Stall against the cage. Whiffs of celebratory marijuana smoke in the arena as Dean calls for a restart. Two minutes in. Koscheck still winging that overhand right. One does graze off the side of the head. St-Pierre continues to move in though, and Koscheck's slips briefly to the canvas after an exchange. St-Pierre still chopping the legs. St-Pierre with a snapping lead hook. There's no way Koscheck can see that coming. St-Pierre patient on the outside. Two jabs lands. Right hand. Low kick. Koscheck is being torn apart. Koscheck trying to stay light. He won't wilt in the adversity, but he is absolutely desperate. Round ends, and it's one more for St-Pierre on the MMAjunkie.com card, 10-9.
Round 5 - Doctor in again, and crowd boos. They want Koscheck to take his medicine. He will. Final round. Ksocheck still moving forward, but he eats a big overhand left. Koscheck still searching for that right hand. St-Pierre continues to pick him apart with the jab. St-Pierre changing levels, teasing the takedown. Instead, it's more jabs and low kicks. Two minutes in. Koscheck's chances are slipping away by the second, and St-Pierre continues to outland him on the feet. Koscheck backing up to the cage and keeping his right hand high. More taunts (and marijuana) from the Montreal crowd. St-Pierre moves into the clinch. Koscheck looking for anything against the cage. Instead, he's dropped to the floor. He pops up, and St-Pierre dumps him again. Koscheck scrambles right back up, staying true to his pre-fight promises. Nevertheless, he has no place to go. St-Pierre stays right against the cage. He backs away for the final 30 seconds. Koscheck misses a spinning kick. Crowd on its feet.One more flurry from St-Pierre to close, and the two embrace in the cage.
