I think Banuelos is getting written off too easily, I know Miguel is ex champ but he's on a poorer run of form right now. 5k on Antonio.

Torres by UD:

Quote:
Round 1 - Referee Mario Yamasaki calls the first pay-per-view bout of the evening. Torres slung low with his left hand pawing out before he throws the first jab of the night. A follow-up kick and punch are blocked. Inside leg kick lands for the former bantamweight champ. Banuelos with a nice left hook, but a follow-up combo misses. Body kick lands for Torres. A few jabs do, too. Banuelos looks a little tentative. Torres works the jab. Banuelos with a nice one-two. Torres is getting off first, though. He's not damaging Banuelos much, but his punch count is higher. That could play a part in this round's scoring. Torres with a jab. Banuelos catches a kick and deposits Torres on the mat, but he thinks better of it and lets his foe up. Banuelos comes forward, but he's not really throwing. Meanwhile, Torres pops off a few jabs. More of a sparring session at the moment. Torres fires off a right hand. His reach is really paying dividends. Jab pops off for Torres. Banuelos misses with a high kick and a bolo. Then a spinning back kick whiffs. Torres lands a jab at the end of the round, and the crowd lustily boos. First round goes to Torres on MMAjunkie.com scorecards, 10-9.

Round 2 - Banuelos got some good advice between rounds from coach John Hackleman, who told him to get busy. When he comes out, though, he still looks a bit tentative, and Torres is just picking away. Finally, he lands a right hand. It does nothing. Torres jabs and goes low with a kick that hits the family jewels. Not much of a break, and we're back to the fight. Banuelos just can't reach Torres, who fires off a switch kick that misses, and he goes back to jabs and straight right. They're mostly landing, or at least the jabs. Banuelos is floundering. Torres gets a little too close and nearly pays by taking a big hook, but he's OK. Jab lands for Torres. Not quite GSP-Koscheck II, but it kind of is. Torres is having his way with his jab. Banuelos inches forward and hints at a flurry but backs off. Hackleman is yelling at him to push the pace. He's wading in and firing off a few hooks here and there, but he's letting Torres escape every time. Meanwhile, his nose is bleeding from the jabs. Torres dancing. He's having fun. He fires off a body kick, and Banuelos isn't even close with a flurry of hooks. Torres gets a little too cocky, and Banuelos lands a good punch at the end of the round. But it's still 10-9 for Torres on MMAjunkie.com's scorecard.

Round 3 - Banuelos should go for broke. Torres lands a few jabs and peels off. Banuelos pursues and lands a half-blocked shot. Jab for Torres lands. Banuelos lands a counter to the side of Torres' head when the former champ gets close. Follow-up flurry gets air. The crowd is not pleased with this sparring session. Banuelos is now circling away. Torres fires off some jabs and straight rights, and Banuelos covers up. Two jabs land for Torres. Banuelos flings some hooks at the body but lands nothing. He's getting lit up by the counters of Torres. Another buffet of jabs for Torres and then a straight right. Banuelos is not in this fight. He's going through the motions, but it looks like he's watching himself fight instead of actually fighting. Torres is chasing him down with less than a minute to go. Banuelos misses with a haymaker. More jabs come for Torres. Torres goes with an uppercut-hook combo while Banuelos goes high with a kick. Banuelos charges in the final seconds and goes for broke against the fence. He lands some glancing shots, and Torres retorts with a knee in close. The round ends, and it's the reach of Torres that's the story of this fight. Another 10-9 round for the former WEC champ, and that means a 30-27 win for Torres. Miguel Torres def. Antonio Banuelos via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)
