Round 1 - Referee kevin Dornan in charge of this featherweight affair. Omigawa takes the center and switches in and out of stances. Elkins misses on a few early jabs. Omigawa shifting his feet early. Elkins punching frequently, mixing up the levels. Omigawa looking to counter. Both fighters connecting, but Elkins landing more frequently. Omigawa shakes out his hands and lands a stiff left. Second exchange favors Omigawa, as well. Elkins quickly returns fire, and we're two minutes in. Omigawa clipped as he moves in, and he drops to a knee. He pops back up and resets,a but Elkins clips him again. Omigawa moves in, and Elkins puts him on the floor. Omigawa looks for a leg, but Elkins quickly pulls free and scampers away. Omigawa misses on an overhand, and Elkins counters. Elkins finding a home for his overhand rights. Omigawa slips on a punch, and he continues to shake out his arms. Final minute, and Elkins moving well on his feet. Omigawa landing the occasional punch, as well, but not with quite as much frequency. Omigawa slips again, and Elkins pummels him with a few punches. Round ends, and MMAjunkie.com sees an entertaining one for Elkins, 10-9.
Round 2 - Omigawa pushes forward to open the second. Elkins tries for a takedown that's not there, and he has to reset. Superman lands for Elkins, but the early exchange left a cut on Elkins forehead near the right eye. Omigawas till shalking out the arms, and he walks into a few punches from Elkins. Omigawa grabs the body and tries for a trip, but Elkins backs away. Elkins the busier fighter. Cut isn't terrible, but he does wipe away some blood. Elkins still mixing up shots well. Omigawa lands a stiff right, and both fighters are exchanging in the pocket halfway in. Elkins missing a little more than he was in the early going, and Omigawa looks more comfortable. Final minute. Elkins circling on the outside. Right hand again score for Omigawa. Omigawa lands a right just as Elkins dives for a leg, and Omigawa backs away. Elkins lands a late combination, but he's not as aggressive now. Close round there, and Elkins cut was bleeding throughout. MMAjunkie.com will award the damage, and give Omigawa the round, 10-9
Round 3 - Elkins moves forward again, but Omigawa ducks into a quick takedown. Elkins tries for a guillotine, but he has to let it go. Elkins works an open guard. Big shot from the top for Omigawa. Elkins works his hips, and there's an attempts at a triangle. It's not there, but Elkins uses the miss as an escape attempt. Omigawa tries to transition to the back, but the fight goes to the feet. Elkins' face is a bloody mess. Still, he's firing right hands. Omigawa holds the center as Elkins circles right. Elkins still finding a home for the occasional right hand, and he seems to have plenty of energy. Omigawa also still bouncing into the final two minutes. Very close in the closing minutes. Elkins moves in with more punches, and Omigawa is again content to counter. This has been almost exclusively a boxing match, and neither fighter has really distinguished himself too much above the other. Omigawa holding the center of the cage for much of the final round, and Elkins' face not helping his cause. Crowd cheers on the fighters for the final 10 seconds, and the bell sounds. Could be tight.
