Except you would have to spend 3 times longer making bets for an event because you would have to wade through the extra threads looking for the ones that you want.
I am completely against this unless dude wants to go through all the hassle of keeping the future events separate. I just don't get the point in being able to bet on future events, if you know the odds are going to be good save the money and wait...

The main argument for being able to bet on fights well in advance is value betting. For example, Cruz vs Faber opened at Cruz -125 and by the time the fight happened it was -185. Smart gamblers noticed a good value and bet on Cruz -125 and could have bet on Faber +150ish to guarantee a payout.
That said I'm also against it, because most people aren't that into it since it isn't real money and I'll guarantee that lots of people will tie up the balance of their accounts for months at a time.

If we did that, instead of just betting on UFC 133 right now someone could put a bet on the Jones vs Rampage September fight or the Cain vs JDS October title fight, or even mythical possible fights like Silva vs GSP. It might be fun to have more, or it might take away attention from the most current event, who knows. You can vote if you prefer it either way, there isn't a "don't care" option but you can abstain just the same.

THIS! That would be REALLY cool actually. But I know it'd be a lot of work for the mods.

change it to only have main event future fights but not entire cards, that might work better since its usually the main events that people bet on early anyway.

How's this for a bet idea every announced card all the fighters are put up and you bet on the fighter who drops out due to injury.

What is with the threads? You realized that this was a bad idea and shut them down?
Much better with only one event(as can be seen by looking at this forum at the moment...). Hopefully others will agree now.

Nope put up all sorts of threads, they're just not stickied like the current event to keep 'em separated. You just have to look a little below to find the mostly main event type fights from the future and their threads. Your sides' opinion didn't sway the majority but it came close to the other side's winning vote.
