Round 1 - Referee Herb Dean calls tonight's middleweight title fight. Okami forward quickly. Silva circles left. Silva land an early low kick. Silva paw the jab, over and over. Okami fires a combo but hits the fence as Silva backs away. Typical start for Silva. Okami moves in close, but gets only a failed Thai clinch. Silva staring at the body. Okami keeping tight, and Silva starting to open up the attack. Okami again moves in tightSilva resting in the clinch, seeming disinterested for a moment. Knees traded inside as Okami pushes in. Crowd doesn't like the stalemate. Both fighters staying just active enough for Dean. Okami drops a level, but Silva defneds and remains upright. Boos coming out, likely for Okami, and he backs away. Less than a minute. Silva lands a few crisp jabs. Okami gets a few of his own as the southpaws trade right ahnds. Silva shucking and jiving and lands a few stiff punches. A high kick at the end seals the round for Silva, 10-9.

Round 2 - Okami again out to the center. He opens up with punches, but Silva is the more accurate striker. Silva misses a low kick and then starts wildly waving his hands. Still he can't capitalize. Silva puts his hands down and slips a jab then floors his opponent. An object flies into the cage, but no one sees it. Referee Marc Goddard trying hard on the outside to get Dean's attention. No one wants to stop the fight. Okami stalking, but he can't touch Silva. Another shot floors him. Dean gives Okami every chance to recover. But punches, elbows and knees to the body are coming in non-stop variety. Finally, the fight is mercifully waved off. Anderson Silva def Yushin Okami via TKO (strikes) - Round 2, 2:04 to retain the UFC middleweight title.
