if this happens, penn all the way.

Pretty good odds for Penn. I'm afraid of him gassing though.

Penn is in trouble, his td game is questionable and he can't stand with Diaz IMO.

He has some of the best TD defense in MMA, do you not remember Hughes having BJ's leg above his head, trying his hardest to take him down and BJ just hopping around on one leg?

The people that do take him down, are GSP, Fitch and Edgar. Some of the best wrestlers in MMA, who he's also stuffed a number of times. He's also taken down 2 of those people as well. Is their TD defense questionable also?

Standing Diaz defense is abysmal. He has quick punches and throws tons of combos, but he leaves himself wide open all the time. BJ is has extremely fast head movement and his footwork is far superior to Diaz.

No way in hell does Diaz have the wrestling to take Penn down. If Diaz's pitter patter does start getting the best of Penn, he can take it down with relative ease. It's Diaz with the aweful take down defence. And on the ground, BJ is a few notches above Diaz.

I think slapshot meant TD as in trying to take down Diaz. I'm not so sure on that though, BJ certainly has a good wrestling game, defensive and offensively.

Ah I read 'TD' as 'TDD'. Whoops. He still took Fitch down repeatedly and Edgar a couple times as well. He has very, very good wrestling.

:confused02:

Don't think BJ will use much of his wrestling in this fight though, they respect each other a fair bit so they might just bang it out and if BJ gets tired, (with Nicks volume punching thats a high probability) there is definitely a big chance in a Nick Diaz third rd TKO. Nick won't take BJ to the ground, he will keep him on his feet and continue chipping away until the ref stops it.

Nice odds for Penn, definitely going with him closer to the event.
