UFC on Versus 6: Stefan Struve vs Pat Barry

Best odds out of all the fights. Struve has always been over rated. Struve doesn't have near the power that Kongo does. Barry takes this... easily.

I went with Barry also.....the one thing is if Struve is smart enough to take it to the ground where he is clearly the better.

I see HD chopping his legs for the first round then blasting him early in the 2nd

rofl at these odds.

Struve by submission.

Barry has a garbage ground game and will practically have to jump to punch Struve in the head. Think this is a tough match up for Barry to win even if Struve's defense isn't the greatest.

Quote:

Round 1 - Referee Dan Miragliotta the third man in the cage for this heavyweight co-feature. Struve, of course, towers over his foe as they look to feel out the distance. Both cautious early. Struve kicking a little in the opening moments. Barry now kicks the leg, as well. Barry trying to leap in with punches, but Struve staying away. Struve finally starts to let the hands go a bit. Struve looked to work inside briefly, but Barry pushed away. Struve not firing with much frequency to start. Barry also cautious as he attacks. High kick from Barry gets to the shoulder. Struve kicks low. One minute remains. Not a ton to score this far. Barry chopping away at the legs and avoids a few straight punches. Barry lands a left, and Struve seems to feign injury as he backs to the cage. Barry tries a leaping knee in the final seconds. Interesting strategic fight to open, but certainly not with the strikes most were hoping for. MMAjunkie.com gives it slightly to Barry, 10-9.

Round 2 - Miragliotta calls for some more action to open. Barry lands an early uppercut that seems to connect. Struve still trying to keep distance, but Barry is doing well to work in and out. Struve now rattles off a few punches and ends with a kick. Barry returns to the leg kicks. Barry keeps moving forward. Struve does get a Thai clinch, but Barry pulls away to safety. Struve gets a right hand in, but he's still backing away. Struve tries a knee and then looks for a guillotine. He drops and rolls, but Barry shifts over and moves to side control. Struve adjusts and locks in a sweet triangle choke. Barry is stuck, but he lifts the massive Struve and slams him to the floor. Struve doesn't budge, clinches and earns the tap. The two embrace after the impressive finishing sequence. Stefan Struve def. Pat Barry via submission (triangle choke) - Round 2, 3:22.
