Round 1 - Referee Dan Miragliotta in charge of this bantamweight fight. Cariaso takes the center and misses an early high kick. Cariaso retreating but sneaks in two right hands. Cariaso shoots into a knee, but walks through it. Lee tries to grab a standing guillotine, but Cariaso pops out easily and presses in against the cage. Lee circles off with underhooks and brings the fight to the floor. Cariaso's head against the cage, and Lee works from his opponent's open guard. Lee lands a few short shots, but Cariaso stands. Two minutes in. Lee relentless with the bodylock. Cariaso tries a few knees, but hits the deck again. Crowd chanting "U-T-C" in support of Lee's Ultimate Training Centre team. Cariaso tries to spin an creat room from his back. Instead, he moves to his feet and Lee tries another guillotine. Not there. They continue to jockey for position against the cage. Nothing there, and they break. Punches exchanged, and Cariaso gets the best of them, so Lee moves in for another takedown. Cariaso quickly back to his feet. Lee won't let him breathe until just a few seconds remain. Round ends on the feet, and MMAjunkie.com sees it for Lee, 10-9.

Round 2 - Snapping low kicks exchanged to open, and Cariaso works in a few punches from distance. Lee advances with flashy spinning kicks that come up short, but he's able to get a takedown in the process. Cariaso again up quickly, and he creates space. Lee kicks low then high. Cariaso lands a straight left and a right hook. Lee pushes in again with a bodylock. Cariaso's striking is working when he finds space, but Lee not allowing much of it. Cariaso rattles off six punches, but Lee covers well. Three minutes remain, and it's Cariaso who shoots in with a takedown. Half-mount for Cariaso. Lee kicks from bottom, but Cariaso quickly steps over into full mount. Lee bucks and rolls and recovers guard, but Cariaso jumps out to the side. One minute left. Not a lot of damage coming from the top, but Cariaso is racking up points for controlling the positioning. Cariaso into full mount again. Lee recovers guard and seems to stun Cariaso with an upkick. Lee tries to secure an arm as his opponent falls forward, but he can't get it. ROund end there, and MMAjunkie.com sees it for Cariaso, 10-9.

Round 3 - Cariaso open with a low kick and punches up top. Lee looking to move in and clinch. He gets it and shoves Cariaso to the cage. Not much there, and MIragliotta restarts it. Lee quickly moves back in, walking through Cariaso punches to get there. Lee eats an elbow inside and spins for one of his own that's blocked. Lee dives in for a single-leg, but Cariaso snuffs it out. Lee continues to press, but Cariaso circles around and gets hi own takedown. Halfway into the final round, and that might prove a key takedown if Cariaso can stay on top. Side control for Lee, but he against passes effortlessly to mount. Lee scrambles, and Cariaso is on the back. He looks for a choke, but Lee spins into the move and stays safe, albeit mounted. Another roll, and Cariaso looks to set up an arm triangle from the back. Not there, but less than one minute remains, and Lee is pinned. Cariaso postures up and lands a few big elbows and punches. He looks again for the choke. Lee keeps his chin tucked, but he's given away the round. Fight ends with Cariaso on the back. MMAjunkie.com sees the round for Cariaso, 10-9, giving him the fight 29-28. Chris Cariaso def. Vaughan Lee via split decision (28-29, 29-28, 29-28)
